New Payee Name Validation Ability for Treasury Check Verification System

Yesterday, the Bureau of the Fiscal Service added payee name validation to the Treasury Check Verification System (TCVS) Application Programming Interface (API) to support payment integrity and prevent check fraud.

Key details:

• Payee name access is available only through the API
• Current users can get the updated specification document on the TCVS website
• To request an API key, complete the Terms & Conditions on the TCVS site
• Financial institutions can adapt to the new feature at their own pace
